Introduction:

Astral is a leading South African integrated poultry producer.

Minimum Requirements:

• Technical matric, N3 Qualification/ Equivalent.
• Be in possession of a trade certificate as Fitter and Turner.
• At least 5 years’ experience in Factory maintenance.
• Very good written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous Experience in a Poultry Processing Plant will be an added advantage.
• Be prepared to work shifts.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.
• Must be able to work on weekends and public holidays as required.

Job Specification:

• General machining work in the workshop.
• General plant maintenance (pump, gearboxes, bearings).
• Preventative maintenance and fault finding on mechanical equipment.
• Attending to breakdowns and work under pressure.
• Implementing of 20 Keys/ HACCP / Risk Control and apply general housekeeping rules.
