General Worker Job

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our operations for an experienced General Worker who will be stationed at our Tydstroom contract. Please refer to the information below for further details of the position.

Minimum Requirements

• At least Grade 10 level of education and Physically fit.
• Reliable and Capable of working in a safe manner, adhering to all safety requirements.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Clean criminal record and Must have own reliable transportation to and from work.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Able to follow all reasonable instructions from the Supervisor  Washing vehicles and Offloading Soya vehicles at the siding Fueling vehicles and Loading vehicles, when required  Performing general tasks, such as: Cleaning oil/fuel spills on site/farms  Daily cleaning of the workshop/weighbridge area Checking each compartment and verifying that it is completely empty prior to loading  Ensuring that trailer compartments are flushed (cleaned) prior to moving from bovine to poultry/swine feed deliveries  Loading the correct feed from the appropriate bin, closing the bin, and visually checking the quality of the feed Ensuring that each compartment is not in danger of overflowing during loading  After filling each compartment, the driver slowly moves the vehicle forward so that the next compartment lines up beneath the loading outlet. Extreme care must be taken to ensure that the assistant is securely positioned Once the loading operation is complete, the compartment doors must be secured by the truck assistant  Ensuring that samples are taken to the farm with each order delivered Boot covers are to be supplied by the Distribution office and worn during deliveries to all poultry and swine farms  Personnel may not wander off between the houses before or after discharging feed and must remain at the vehicle at all times Maintaining the proper company image in transit and at customer premises (e.g., proper equipment maintenance and attire) General housekeeping of the wash bay facility We look forward to receiving your application.
