We are looking for a Plater/Welder to manufacture and perform maintenance, overhauling, repairs, condition monitoring services on Plant, equipment and machinery in a safe and cost-effective manner to maximise equipment reliability and availability, whilst enabling the achievement of production targets.

Job Description:
Join our Kumba Iron Ore family at our Sishen Operation as a Boilermaker. This is a key role within the Engineering Team where you will be responsible to:
Ensure effective maintenance of plant equipment and related machinery with regards to manufacturing, installations and welding to ensure optimal utilisation.
Identify and report defects, equipment failures and time required to do repairs
Support plant personnel by ensuring that the necessary plant and equipment maintenance preparations and maintenance tasks are done in accordance with the Standard Maintenance Practice
Continuously monitor maintenance progress and related preparation activities against planned schedules to meet operational targets
Liaise with relevant personnel to arrange assistance regarding resources required
Ensure information provided is accurate and understandable, provide regular feedback and monitor progress to successfully develop and equip learners
Adhere to all health and safety practices requirements and promote good housekeeping to ensure compliance and an environment where team members can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment
This role is in the Engineering department on a Band J4 and reporting to the Engineering Supervisor.
Qualifications:
You will need the following:
- Grade 12 / N3
- Trade Certificate: Plater Welder
- 2 Years’ operational maintenance experience as a Plater/Welder
- Driver’s Licence: Code B (Light Vehicle); Code C (Heavy Vehicle)
