Job Summary Statement
Moolmans offers services across the mining value chain, from shaft sinking, underground development, contract mining and open cut mining, to construction of mine infrastructure. The operating group’s experience spans a broad range of commodities and it has worked successfully in remote and challenging locations.
Specialise in the lifting and moving of extremely large or heavy objects
Minimum Requirements
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Grade 12.
• Certified Rigger (Section 13)
EXPERIENCE:
• At least five years related work experience as a Rigger in an open pit mining environment
Duties & Responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with organisational safety, health, environment and quality standards and procedures.
• Comply with all PPE requirements as prescribed.
• Align, level, and anchor machinery.
• Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools.
• Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures
• Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chainfalls, gin poles, gallows frames, and other equipment.
• Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use.
• Fabricate, set up, and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and power tools.
• Must be able to do rope capping, front ends, back ends.
• Rope installation and maintenance.
• Slinging and transporting of heavy materials.
• Responsible for all legal files on all lifting equipment
• To be responsible for all legal requirements as per appointment
